Summer farmers market season is almost over, but before we trade tomatoes and sweet corn for pumpkins and falling leaves, there's time for one last trip to the Edina Farmers Market at Centennial Lakes Park.
The last day of the market will also feature some very unique, fun and furry guests… Llamas!
To mark the final Edina Farmers Market of the 2026 season, Centennial Lakes Park is bringing in a few special guests to help send it off. Carlson's Llovable Llamas will be visiting the park from 3–6 PM. So you plan to pick up your vegetables, bread, and other market favorites then take wander over to make friends with a llama! We can't think of many better ways to spend the first day of October.
The Edina Farmers Market has been running every Thursday since early June, bringing farmers, growers, bakers, food makers and food trucks to Centennial Lakes. While summer might get the most attention from market attendees, early fall is a wonderful time to visit.
Depending on what vendors bring for the final week, this is the time of year when your market bag might look a little more autumnal: apples, potatoes, onions, carrots, squash, pumpkins and other late season produce alongside breads, baked goods, honey, sauces, seasonings and prepared foods.
The 2026 vendor lineup has included local farms and food businesses such as Untiedt's Vegetable Farm, Svihel Vegetable Farm, Chang Farm, Peter's Pumpkins & Carmen's Corn, Bee Happy Honey, Great Harvest Bread Company, Mogi Bagel, Natasha's Pierogis, Muddy Tiger, Tibetan Family Momo and many more.
Vendor attendance can vary from week to week, so think of that as inspiration rather than a shopping list - Part of the fun is discovering what's there upon arrival!
There is something especially nice about visiting a farmers market at the end of its season.
The strawberries and asparagus of early summer are long gone, the days are growing shorter, and you find yourself shopping for ingredients made for simmering in a soup pot rather than sizzling on a grill.
The last market also provides one more opportunity to buy directly from the farmers, growers and food producers who have been setting up at Centennial Lakes all summer. The Edina Farmers Market also partners with VEAP, with fresh produce donated to support local households. So bring a reusable bag, see what's still in season, and help give the market a good send-off.
One of our favorite things about the Edina Farmers Market is the location. After you've finished shopping (and met the llamas, of course) take a walk around Centennial Lakes Park. By the beginning of October, the park is beginning its transition into fall. Walk the paths around the water, sit on a bench for a few minutes and take in the surrounding beauty, or purchase something from one of the food vendors and enjoy a lakeside snack.
From the first markets of June to the beginning of October, the Edina Farmers Market is one of those little signs that tell us what season we're in. Tomorrow, it's time to say goodbye for another year – so let’s live in the moment and enjoy it while we still can.
